WSOP 2017

This is The Road to Vegas Baby Tournament series! (RVB for short)

For the first half of 2017 we will shoot for awarding as many $1500 seats as we can in the 2017 WSOP.

Here's how...

We will have six Step 1 tournaments from Jan 2017 through May 2017, most will be on the last Friday of each month at 8pm.

Entry for each tournament is $100.

Players will compete to earn chips for Step 2.

Just for showing up and entering, players get 4K in chips.

Third place gets 6K

Second place gets 8K and $60

First place gets 12K and $100

If we have less than 5 players we will cancel and try to reschedule.

If we have to reschedule more than one Step 1 we will cancel the series and all players will be refunded.

Of the six Step 1 tournaments - only a players best 4 results will count towards chips in Step 2.

Players do not have to play all six tournaments, but they must pay entry for a minimum of FOUR tournaments in order to qualify for a share of the WSOP spoils, and they may be required to pay a little bit more, up to a maximum of $80 more, if we are less than $500 away from awarding an additional seat.

Once players have paid and entered for FOUR tournaments, the fifth and sixth tournaments are free-rolls (with the possible exception noted above.)  Tournaments #5 & #6 will still include cash payouts to first and second place, $100 and $60 respectively, drawn from the general pool.

For each entry they pay they will receive 4K in chips in Step 2 even if they are unable to play every Step 1.

Step 2 tournament will take place towards the end of May on a Saturday afternoon - the winner of Step 2 will get to go to the $1500 event of their choice and also receive up to $500 in travel expense money.

Depending on how much cash there is in the prize pool, second and third places may also receive seat awards.   All details will be hammered out and voted on after the prize pool is finalized but before Step 2 takes place.

The primary aim of this series - RVT I - will be to award as many $1500 seats as possible.

-----

As always, all satellite participants have to be people that I have personally played poker with before.  This first series in 2017 will be restricted entirely to only PSP regulars - meaning they've played at least half a dozen times over the past two years.

The Main Event Series, starting in July 2017 for entry into the 2018 Main Event, will be opened up to any and all who have played in the garage in the past, and we will also allow newer players who have showed up in the garage for the first time in 2017.

There are absolutely no refunds at any time after a player has paid a Step 1 entry fee - one exception is a catastrophic life event, meaning a life changing injury or the death of an immediate family member or an event of similar magnitude.  Another exception of course is if we don't get enough players to finish the series.

Because this is a situation where there is a chance, though admittedly remote, where large sums of money may be in play, all participants will be required to sign a staking agreement prior to the awarding of any seats.  Additionally all players are individually responsible for meeting their obligations to the IRS should there be a payout of any meaningful amount.

Every journey begins...

...with a single step.  And this will be a long journey indeed, all the way to the The World Series of Poker.

From January 2017 through May 2017 - selected poker players from Pepper Street will battle it out over 6 tournaments (Step 1) to accumulate chips for a final showdown (Step 2) in May that will send one or more lucky souls to the greatest tournament poker series on earth.

There, if they should happen to cash, they will then share their spoils with the rest of the players that helped them get there.

The first Step 1 tournament will be on Friday, January 27 at 8pm.

Should be a grand time for all.  Stay tuned as the adventure unfolds.
